FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We want to give you the answers you need
WHAT IS TRANSITION ONE?
Transition One is a nine-month gap year program that is designed to help you lead fearlessly, love people endlessly, and pursue God unconditionally. We do this through 6 months of learning in Green Bay, and 3 months overseas partnering with a church or missionary.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A STUDENT?
We are looking for a student who is willing to learn and grow, say yes to every opportunity, and serve both state-side and overseas.
WHEN DOES THE YEAR START?
The school year starts the first Saturday, after Labor Day (parent/student orientation) and the first day of class (first Monday after Labor Day). The program concludes at the end of May when students return from their missions location. The graduation ceremony is in Green Bay.
ARE THERE ANY BREAKS?
Yes! We have a short Thanksgiving break and a lengthy Christmas break. Specific break dates will be communicated in your confirmation packet.
WHERE WILL I LIVE WHILE IN GREEN BAY?
Host homes are generously provided by local church members. Each host home undergoes a thorough application process and is background checked.
CAN I HAVE A JOB WHILE IN THE PROGRAM?
Yes! Students may have a job during their six months in Green Bay, however, the job must be flexible enough for students to get off for special events and trips. While overseas, students may not have a job.
WILL I GO OVERSEAS ALONE?
We want our students to feel comfortable going overseas. So, we send students in groups of two or more to each missions destination.
DO I GET TO PICK WHICH COUNTRY I GO TO?
We take into account which country is favored by a student, but the Transition One staff makes the final decision for each student's missions destination. This decision is based on the needs of the missionary/church, the culture of the country, the personality of the student, and group dynamics.
